Transcending boundaries with the Solidscape Muse
By John Stef, Owner, Unbound Aureum
When I founded Unbound Aureum, my vision was to create jewelry that felt limitless—pieces that merged artistic expression with flawless execution. In the beginning, I worked traditionally, sketching by hand and carving waxes at the bench. While this gave me a foundation in craftsmanship, I quickly realized that to truly bring my ideas to life, I needed tools that would allow me to capture every detail with precision and freedom. That realization set me on the path to CAD/CAM design.
Learning CAD was transformative. It opened up a world where I could design intricate patterns, experiment with complex geometries, and refine every angle long before casting. But designing digitally was only half of the journey—I needed a way to translate those designs into physical wax models that could carry the same level of accuracy.
That’s when I discovered the Solidscape Muse.
“The Muse immediately became central to my creative process. “
John Stef, Unbound Aureum
Its ability to print in castable wax with remarkable precision meant I could trust that my digital designs would translate seamlessly into the real world. Tiny details that would have been nearly impossible to carve by hand came out perfectly every time. The dissolvable supports were another breakthrough, allowing me to produce complex, interwoven designs without fear of damaging them during cleanup.
What makes the Muse invaluable is the control and consistency it gives me. I can take a design from concept to casting without delays or compromise, ensuring that the final piece matches my original vision. It’s also empowering to know that the Muse is made in the USA, engineered with reliability that I can count on day after day.
At Unbound Aureum, the Muse represents more than technology—it represents creative freedom. It’s where artistry meets precision, and where imagination becomes reality.
