The art of customization
John Eicken, Founder, Diedrich’s Custom Jewelery Designers Inc.
When I founded Diedrich’s Custom Jewelry Designers Inc., my goal was simple: to create meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces that blended artistry with the highest standards of craftsmanship. In the early days, everything we made was carved by hand in wax and then cast using traditional techniques. It was slow, meticulous work, but it gave each piece a soul. Those skills became the heart of our reputation and the reason clients trusted us with their most important milestones.
As our business grew, so did the demand for more intricate designs and faster turnaround times. I realized that to keep pace without compromising our values, we had to embrace digital tools. CAD/CAM design opened the door to endless creative possibilities and gave us a way to refine and perfect a design before ever touching metal or stone. Still, we needed a way to bring those digital designs into the physical world with absolute precision. That’s when we discovered Solidscape and the S3Duo.
“The S3Duo has been nothing short
of transformative for us.”
John Eicken, Owner, Diedrich’s Custom Jewelery Designers Inc.
Wax prints from the S3Duo capture every delicate detail of our CAD files with extraordinary accuracy and surface smoothness. That means less time spent on cleanup and finishing, and more time focusing on the artistic touches that make a piece special. Casting with these waxes is also completely reliable. The clean burnouts give us trouble-free results every time, which is essential when working with precious metals. The dual-material system makes supports easy to remove and keeps the workflow simple and efficient.
By choosing the Solidscape S3Duo, we’ve been able to honor the traditional craftsmanship that built our business while embracing innovation that keeps us at the forefront of fine jewelry design. For me, it’s the perfect balance—heritage and technology working together to create jewelry that will be cherished for generations.
